The ATC5 lab course was held at DTU, Fysikvej Building 307, 311, 312 and 314, 2800 Kongens Lyngby, Denmark on June 16 and 17th, 2016

Accommodation

We have negotiated a deal with CabINN Scandinavia hotel (central Copenhagen location) and reserved 17 single standard rooms from 15th June (Wednesday) till 18th June (Saturday). It’s a fairly priced simple hotel in Copenhagen. It is perfectly located to go and discover Copenhagen in the evenings.

The price is 560 DKK (approx. 75 EUR)/night + 75 DKK/day (approx. 10 EUR) for breakfast.

Everyone who wants to take this offer will have to fill out a form. You will pay for the hotel yourself and get a receipt individually at check-in/check-out. We would like to ask everyone who is coming to the lab course to register before the 21st of March so we can send out the forms and start organizing the accommodation. We will send out reminders during this time period.  You can of course choose to take a different place, we would still like you to register on the CATSENSE homepage and when we send out the forms just tell us that you’re finding your own place.

Transportation in Copenhagen

The public transport in and around Copenhagen is organized and priced based on zones. The inner city is zone 1 and as you are traveling further away the zone numbers are increasing. Above zone 2, the zones are further divided based on where they are.

As DTU is in Zone 51 (pretty far out in northern direction), sadly you cannot use the tickets designed for tourists. As of now it seems the easiest alternative is to buy a 24h ticket to Hovedstatsområdet, which is valid for 24h in all zones around the Copenhagen area. 24h costs 130 DKK/person (approx. 17.5 EUR) We are looking for another solution so there might be some updates on this as soon as we know the exact number of how many of us is coming! So please register by 21st of March.

Transport from the airport to the hotel

Take the metro M2 from the airport towards Vanløse st. and get off at Forum st. (10th stop, approx. 17 minutes, 3 zones). The hotel is in walking distance (400m) from the metro station. The metro is normally running 24/7.

Transport to and from DTU

In the morning the simplest way to DTU is to catch an S-train (line A towards Hillerød st. or line E towards Holte st) at Vesterport st (walking distance from hotel, 1 km) and get off at Lyngby st. From there there are regular busses (300S or 181E) to Handelsskolen Kbh Nord. From there the buildings are in short walking distance.

We will help you with the transportation in the morning (Bela will pick you up at the hotel) and Philo and Yubiao should in principle also be able to find her/his way. Also in the afternoon we will go back to Copenhagen together.
